Communications and Publications Coordinator – Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia

The Communications and Publications Coordinator reports to and is directly accountable to the Executive Manager Corporate Services. The position is responsible for leading, and coordinating the provision of a range of effective communication and publication activities relevant to the needs of the organisation and our Member Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
The occupant will develop, implement and review a range of communication strategies to achieve organisational objectives and improve community engagement. This includes through written publications (Quarterly Newsletter, Annual Report and monthly E-Bulletins), educational and promotional materials, website and social media content, and media related material.
The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
