The Director, Indigenous Data Sovereignty and local data projects position will be part of a broader team of committed, passionate and expert people that strive for a culturally safe, inclusive and collaborative workplace environment that honours Indigenous Knowledges and Aboriginal governance structures and cultural values.

The Director will work with the NSW Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and communities to transform the way government works to close the gap, as part of seven new projects under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap (National Agreement). The Director will also lead a team to design a road map and a model that sets out a shared understanding of what Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Governance means in NSW. In addition, the team will establish a funding pool to support Aboriginal communities funding community data projects.
