Chief Executive Officer - Aboriginal Housing Northern Territory

Now that we are well-established as the NT’s peak body for the Aboriginal community-controlled housing sector, and agreements are in place with governments, land councils, peaks and partnerships, AHNT is growing in terms of resources, capability and influence.

As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) you will ensure that AHNT maintains the strategic direction set by the board and elaborated in our own Strategic Plan 2024–27, and that our work proceeds in accordance with the:

  • National Agreement on Closing the Gap, priority reforms, socio-economic targets (especially outcome 9) and the NT implementation plan

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Sector Strengthening Plan

  • tripartite Partnership Agreement for the Joint Steering Committee on Remote Housing in the NT

  • NT Government’s Community Housing Growth Strategy 2022–32

The successful candidate will cultivate strong and effective relationships with the Aboriginal community-controlled sector, Aboriginal land councils, Australian and NT governments and other peak bodies, including NATSIHA, Coalition of Peaks and APONT.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of passionate, skilled employees, ensuring the highest standard of service and advocacy for the Aboriginal community-controlled housing sector, absolute integrity and rigorous accountability for our board, funders and supporters.
